If your document comprises several elements of the same type, like formulas, images or equations for example, you can number them to refer more easily there. Rather than to do that manually and to be likely to mislead you in classification, you can let Word manage the incrementing.
In your Word document, place beside the first element to number itself, an image for example.
- Unroll small Insertion then click on Champ.
- In the list Field, click on the Seq. element
- In the field Field code, following formula SEQ, then seize the name of your sequence, image for example.
- Validate by OK. Your image carries from now on number 1.
- When you add another image, start again the operation. The field will be automatically incremented. To go more quickly, it is enough for you to copy the numbered field.
- You can use several sequences to number different elements in the same document. It is enough for you simply to differentiate them by the name to the sequence.
