If you are having constant problems with Word 2003, you may want to try the built-in repair functionality that can fix shortcuts, reset settings to their defaults, and more.
- Click "Help" - "Detect and Repair".
- Read the dialog box text. This feature will try to automatically find and fix errors in all Office files.
- If desired, check "Restore my shortcuts while repairing" and/or "Discard my customized settings and restore default settings".
- Click "Cancel" to skip the repair process or "Start" to enable automatic repairing.
